The Romans admired moonstone, as they believed it was derived from solidified rays of the moon. The moonstone is also the state gemstone of Florida; it was designated as such in 1970 to commemorate the moon landings, which took off from Kennedy Space Center. However, it does not naturally occur in the state. This ring is set in .925 sterling and .999 fine silver by one of our local jewelry artists.
